Anchor

Founded in 2012 by Creative Director, Bruce Rowe, and Managing Director, Claire Hatch, Anchor works with master craftspeople with skills in artisanal manufacturing, technical knowledge and the design process.

Created using a variety of techniques including hand-throwing on the potter’s wheel, extrusion techniques, and modern digital processes, each light still possesses a unique quality and a surface rich with the evidence of its handmade process. After an initial firing, the fittings are hand finished with glazes developed specifically for their lighting collection and then fired again one final time.

Made in Melbourne, Australia, Anchor’s production model educates, builds skills and knowledge and supports a host of local, creative businesses with the same ideals and hopes for sustainable creative enterprise.
