Elevating refined comfort, the Oslo Lounge Chair represents a new chapter in Muuto’s Oslo Series, lending its refined geometry and sartorial smooth curves to an elegant and supremely comfortable seat. This tension makes it a versatile design at ease in a multitude of settings – from the hotel lounge to the office – an ideal companion in carving out space for community and connection in the places we meet and work.

The option of two different bases – tube base and swivel base – allows one to playfully combine elements to create a seat that feels just right. The tube Base provides the Oslo Lounge Chair an additional sense of lightness, while Swivel Base introduces a dynamic freedom of movement befitting the social office and other meeting places.

Normal Studio is a Paris-based design studio, founded in 2006 by Jean-François Dingjian and Eloi Chafaï. In their work, the duo attempts to promote elementary design that goes beyond trends and fads to create objects that will have a longstanding lifespan through timeless expressions. Designs by Normal Studio are part of the permanent collection of Paris’ Musée des Arts Décoratifs and featured in various contemporary art foundations throughout France.

Reinterpreting the original Outline family for home interiors, the Outline Soft Chair balances the series’ structural clarity with an invitingly relaxed expression. Maintaining the same balanced frame as the original Outline, the Soft introduces increased wadding and foam in the seat and back cushions for a softer sit that feels immediately welcoming.

The Soft Chair’s proportions have been carefully designed for residential use, with a slightly reduced seat depth that supports upright comfort without losing the relaxed, enveloping feel.

Thomas Bentzen, former Head of Design at Muuto, started his own studio in 2010. Bentzen’s designs are characterized by simplicity, rationality and functionality — always firmly rooted in the Danish design tradition, material knowledge, craftsmanship and rational industrial manufacturing processes. His work continues to receive international recognition at fairs and exhibitions all over the world.
