Braid Rise – Kvadrat
Braid Rise is an oval shaped rug with a design informed by the intricate drawings found on pebbles and rocks, narrating the passage of time and resilience. It features a soft dual colour composition following the proportion of 60% to 40%.
The rug incorporates thick and thin braided ropes – one made from 32 yarns in four colours, the other with eight yarns in two colours. To make the rug, the thin rope is stitched in a gentle curve along the thick ropes, adding a sense of visual rhythm and texture. The ropes are then assembled in a spiral, stitched together and secured with a fine border rope, featuring a refined 10cm wrapping detail. This stitching technique results in minimal production waste.
Braid Rise is available in three serene colour combinations – sand and kaolin, fluorite and kaolin, and slate and basalt. Custom colour options are available upon request. Ideal for heavy residential and commercial applications, Braid Rise brings elegance and functionality to contemporary interiors and supports a range of practical needs, including optional cut-outs for floor tanks.

Designed by Hella Jongerius, Bold is made using a combination of mechanical and hand-spun yarns resulting in a thick, warm and expressive rug. Bulky and irregular in character, it is the epitome of tactility, a quality that Hella believes to be ‘the most important and best-known characteristic of a rug’.
Bold is woven by skilled weavers from India using yarn that has been dyed after it is twisted. This produces an interesting effect as the dye does not penetrate completely to the yarn’s core.
With its sober colouring and simple but distinctive asymmetric design, Bold can make a statement in a space helping to structure it and aid in the placement of furniture.

Featuring the delicate, organic irregularities reminiscent of natural surfaces, it might be a surprise to learn that Braid is made from recycled post-consumer polyester. Designed by Karin An Rijlaarsdam focusing on creating sustainable designs with a positive environmental impact – the rug is inspired by braiding techniques, crafts and the landscapes of Grand-Bassam, Ivory Coast where she is based. It is the first design in the Kvadrat rug collection including recycled polyester.
Braid is made from braided ropes – one thick, one thin. The slimmer rope is stitched in a slightly wavy curve on the thick ropes which gives a beautiful irregularity to the design, then arranged as a spiral for the round rugs, or in rows for the rectangular design, before being stitched into place. To finish, a fine rope is sewn around the rug and the border is refined with a 10 cm wrapping detail on the lower right edge or corner. The making of Braid results in minimal production waste thanks to its stitching technique.

A bold design in a twill construction using felted mill spun yarns for both weft and warp, Dashes is a flat woven rug that takes the classic two coloured pied de poule and abstracts it into a multicoloured poly-dimensional graphic.
The warp is built out of yarns in six different colours, a plain colour used in alternation with a colourful multicoloured stripe. The weft sees a slightly thicker yarn used, with two contrasting neutral colours interchanged. On the top of each rug the dark colour builds the rip of the twill and on the lower part the rip is woven in a lighter colour. The locking yarn corresponds to the rip of the twill.

Guided by the idea that contrast can and should be complimentary, Duotone’s elegance derives from its apparent simplicity. Using only two colours – one for the weft and one for the warp – shades which might otherwise be in opposition, are combined with varied densities of yarn to create a unique identity.
Duotone’s soft yet distinctive palette has received a recolour that lends new depth to colour pairings ranging from sulphate blue to coral. Its signature muted irregularity is paired with what Hella Jongerius describes as “the most simple flat-woven basket construction; the archetype of weaving” — a nod to Hallingdal, Kvadrat’s iconic basket-woven textile.
Combining quiet intricacies of colour and texture, Duotone offers a powerful statement that never overpowers.

Yield Dot adds a unique twist and shares the same two-coloured body construction as Yield but incorporates a third coloured yarn interwoven using the Lancé technique. This distinctive technique results in small, visible dots on the front side of the rug, while longer flotations are observed on the backside. With consistent spacing, the quantity of dots varies depending on the rug's size.
In Yield Dot, all colourways exclusively feature naturally coloured wool in both the warp and weft. The wool used in the warp includes a blend of different hues, coming from the natural variations of the sheep themselves. These are complemented by a range of natural and dyed shades in the weft. The combination of robust, sturdy woollen fibres and a durable construction ensures the rugs’ longevity.
For rectangular rugs, the short edges can be finished with an option of 3cm long fringes, or with a two-coloured hand binding that matches the colour of the rug. The selvedges feature a loom binding.

Aram explores the dynamic relationship between volume, structure and colour. Handwoven from pure New Zealand wool, it offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Sumak weaving technique.
Bundles of plied yarns are looped around the warp to create a multidimensional surface reminiscent of magnified braided ribs. The result is a tactile, richly textured wool rug with depth and movement across its surface.
Each yarn is space-dyed by hand in gradual tonal transitions, infusing every strand with individual colour variation. This produces refined nuances and subtle rhythms that shift gently under changing light.
Aram balances artisanal craftsmanship with architectural clarity, making it suitable for contemporary residential interiors and selected commercial spaces.

In a palette of six colours typical of Nepalese yarns, this high-quality kilim rug has been hand woven from the wool of the Tibetan Argali – a wild sheep breed that resides in the Himalayan mountains.
The yarns themselves have been hand-spun by local weavers, and their naturally faded colours and irregular character lend each rug a truly individual appeal.
Each rug incorporates several design details, including a hand-embroidered area with silk yarn – a reference to an old tradition of repairing the rugs. The fringes are braided, a practice that also refers to an old custom in Nepal and for its decorative appeal. Colourful silk yarns lend the rug a light and modern character.

Designed and recoloured by Hella Jongerius, Bravoure is the original rug in the Kvadrat collection, and a true contemporary classic. The Bravoure is available in three pile heights – 17, 35 and 60 mm.
As strong and durable as it is striking, Bravoure’s signature is in its seemingly random yet perfectly balanced interplay of thick and thin yarns, tufted structure and expressive colours.
Dyed in strands, the yarns used to construct Bravoure create an organic and intricate fusion of shades; subtle details and delicate contrasts emerge from the surface of the rug as the light, or the perspective of the viewer, changes.
Bravoure 17 is available in eight colours. The short pile and density makes the quality more stable and more suitable for long-lasting performance in busy environments.

Cocoon brings unexpected dimension to the classic woven rug. Designer Hella Jongerius sought to ‘create a layered and tactile woollen landscape with soft knots’, accentuated by a generous border.
Long, pure wool yarn has been spun from two colours in either statement contrast or calmer tone-on-tone combinations. It is then felted for a smooth and comfortable texture before being knotted into irregular clusters. The result is both dramatic and durable.

The Corde Chevron was created by long-time Kvadrat collaborator Ronan Bouroullec. "Drawing has always been part of my life, a long time before I became interested in design,” says Ronan. “I have always drawn with different types of tools, from ballpoint in a cafe to a large brush in my studio, drawing, it’s like a constant companion for me.”
Many of Ronan’s drawings take form through the steady repetition of lines, and the Corde Collection evolved from an urge to translate this effect into rug designs. The assembled ropes in the Corde Collection mimic the appearance of hand-drawn lines placed next to each other, creating patterns and surfaces that flow in different directions.
To achieve dynamic colour depth, the rugs feature a combination of tie-dyed yarns. This traditional technique partially dyes the yarn hanks, creating a subtle interplay between dyed and undyed sections as well as an organic colour transition in each yarn. The ropes are meticulously braided from thin New Zealand woollen yarns, ensuring durability and resistance to dirt. An organic cotton core adds weight to the construction, keeping the rug flat. Cotton stitching yarn binds the ropes, resulting in a use surface of 95% New Zealand wool and 5% cotton.

Design & Craftsmanship
Aram 2 by Kvadrat explores the dynamic between volume, structure and colour. Handwoven from pure New Zealand wool, it offers a fresh interpretation of the traditional Sumak weaving technique.
Aram 2 is characterised by subtle movement across its surface, created through meticulous colour blending and a richly textured weave. Bundles of plied yarns are looped around the warp to form a multidimensional expression reminiscent of magnified braided ribs.
Each yarn is space-dyed by hand in gradual tonal stages, moving from lighter to darker shades. This process gives every thread its own colour variation, resulting in refined nuances and a gentle rhythm of colour across the rug.
The result is an exceptionally comfortable, tactile wool rug suited to contemporary living rooms, dining spaces and commercial interiors.
